2007 16x20 inches acrylic on canvas prints- [link]
This is the only painting I've ever done that I used the grid technique on. I drew up a preliminary, but I couldn't get the sketch on the canvas to look right, so I used a grid to transfer it.
I got the effect on the background using sponges. The bubbles weren't actually a part of the original layout for the painting, but I added them after it was nearly finished... it just didn't look right without them.
i could swear there's water on my computer screen *can't understand why it's not there when i scroll down to comment* really, it's that realistic.

Thank you! Yes, I really liked the way the background turned out... for me, underwater scenes just don't look right without the random streams of bubbles.
